New Career Exploration Certificate Program (Sign-up Now)

Open to all freshmen and sophomore students (0-60 credits), the Career Exploration Certificate Program will help students to take their first step on the ladder to success.

Participants will gain:

  • a greater understanding of themselves and the career development process

And will be better prepared to:

  • choose/confirm a major
  • research prospective careers
  • gain related experience through job shadowing and internship experiences
  • plan for a successful professional job or graduate school search

In addition, since students can document the program on their resume, they will have an additional opportunity to impress prospective employers/graduate schools with their motivation and drive! At year’s end, students who complete all requirements will receive a Certificate of Program Completion and an invitation to a student recognition ceremony!

How does it work?

The Certificate program uses a variety of resources including online technology, campus presentations and activities, as well as one-on-one career coaching. The requirements are simple and give you the flexibility of choosing the workshops and activities that best fit your career development needs. The requirements can be completed in any order, although the Career Development Center recommends that you start with the “Getting Started” session and must be completed by April 1, 2014.

Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the Program, although it is not reflected on the official Kutztown University transcript. This certificate is created by the Career Development Center and is not part of any academic program nor guarantees success in finding a job/admission into a graduate school program.
